What Turkey actually pays
A cash payment back on qualified spend, usually after an audit. Like a grant in practice, though often funded from a capped pool.

How to apply
A Turkish co-producer or production service company that has produced, co-produced or serviced at least two theatrical features or one full series season shown in the past five years applies online through e-Devlet (turkiye.gov.tr) with the co-production or service contract, synopsis and script with Turkish translations, detailed total and Turkish budgets, shooting schedule, cast list, distribution plan and the qualification test, which must score at least 50 of 100 points. Support is paid in a single installment after invoices equal to the support amount, a sworn financial advisor's report and the other contract obligations are delivered. It cannot be combined with the Ministry's co-production support for the same project.
The rule to remember
The 30% is a ceiling, not an entitlement: the Ministry sets the amount, a qualifying Turkish co-producer or service company must apply, and the finished work must have a commercial release outside Türkiye.
Common questions
- What is the Turkey film tax incentive rate?
- Turkey offers 0% to 30% on qualified in-state spend through the Türkiye Foreign Film Production Support. It is a rebate. A cash payment back on qualified spend, usually after an audit. Like a grant in practice, though often funded from a capped pool.
- What is the minimum spend for the Turkey film incentive?
- Spend in Türkiye of at least TRY 40 million for a feature film, TRY 8 million for a documentary and TRY 13 million per episode for a series.. Falling under the minimum is a total loss of the benefit, not a partial one — it is worth confirming the threshold before locking a budget.
- Is the Turkey film incentive transferable or refundable?
- Neither transferable nor refundable, which limits its value to productions with in-state tax liability.
Verify before you budget. These figures come from our own incentives database and each shows when it was last reviewed — but programs change between funding cycles and legislative sessions. Confirm with the film office, or ask us, before a number goes into a budget.
